A World Becoming

A World Becoming started as a place for music that did not need to become a conventional song.

Some ideas seem better expressed through atmosphere than lyrics. A landscape, a distant horizon, the scale of the night sky, a quiet room, a changing world, or simply the feeling that comes from stopping long enough to notice something. A World Becoming became the home for that side of my music.

The sound is built around ambient and instrumental music, synthesizers, spacious textures, gradual movement, and a sense of scale. Nature and technology can exist beside one another here. So can distant worlds and familiar places, quiet observation and imagination, things that are real and places that exist only in the mind.

The name reflects something I find myself returning to often: nothing is really finished. Landscapes change. Technology changes. People change. Our understanding of the world changes. We are always somewhere in the middle of becoming whatever comes next.

That also makes A World Becoming a deliberately open space. Some pieces begin with a specific place, observation, or idea, while others begin almost entirely with a sound or feeling. The music does not need to explain what the listener is supposed to see or think. I would rather leave room for someone else to bring their own memories, work, writing, reflection, or imagination into it.

A World Becoming is music for that space between what already exists and what might exist next.
