Nazca Tridactyls

I had never heard of the Nazca tridactyls until someone mentioned them to me and sent me a link. As we talked about it, the subject started turning over in my head. Somewhere in that conversation the idea emerged that it could make an unusually good foundation for an ambient series. I do not remember exactly how I connected those dots, but once I did, it immediately felt like something that belonged with A World Becoming.

What interested me was not trying to decide what the tridactyls are or what anyone should believe about them. It was the atmosphere around the mystery itself: desert, excavation, scientific scrutiny, old stone, dust, uncertainty, and the possibility that there may still be things about the past that we do not fully understand.

From there I started imagining the album moving through different sides of that mystery. Some pieces lean more archaeological, some colder and more clinical, and others open into something almost cosmic. The common thread is curiosity. I wanted the music to stay in that unresolved space and let the listener experience the questions without feeling compelled to answer them.

That is what made A World Becoming feel like the right home for the project. The Artist already gives me room to explore subjects that sit somewhere between science, history, speculation, and wonder, and this one fit naturally into that world.
