The Story Behind Through You
Through You grew from an observation I have made repeatedly in my own life: people of faith often seem to carry themselves differently when someone they love is facing circumstances they cannot change.
I have watched people I respect remain present through illness, decline, and end-of-life situations with a kind of steadiness that is difficult to explain only in practical terms. They still hurt. They still feel helpless. They do not suddenly have answers. But their belief in something larger than themselves seems to give them another place to put the fear, grief, and uncertainty that would otherwise have nowhere to go.
That is what interested me about this song. It is not an argument that faith removes suffering. It is an acknowledgment that faith can give people a framework for living with suffering, and can help them continue showing up for the people they love when there is very little left to fix.
The song centers on ordinary human limitations and on the possibility that love, mercy, and presence can carry meaning beyond what one person is capable of accomplishing alone. For me, Through You is another recognition of something I have come to respect in people of faith: their beliefs can become a genuine source of strength, not only for themselves, but for the people who depend on them during some of life’s hardest moments.
Creative Notes
The final recording came from an atypical Suno generation. Most AI-generated music tends to arrive extremely tight, polished, and internally consistent. This version had something different: the warmth, atmosphere, slight looseness, and sense of physical space associated with musicians recording in a small studio or an ordinary room. In a useful sense, it almost felt like a defect. It was less perfect, and therefore more convincing.
That difference was immediately recognizable, and the take stood out as the version of Through You worth keeping. Mastering improved and normalized several aspects of the recording, but it also reduced some of the raw studio character that made the original generation unusual.
Even after mastering, that performance became the gold-standard Suno Voice for Corra’s Light. It is now the vocal reference for the artist because the quality being preserved is not greater technical perfection. It is the opposite: more warmth, more atmosphere, more humanity, and less of the machine-perfect character that AI music can easily fall into.

There are still roads I cannot see Still questions in the air Some days feel lighter than before Some burdens still are there
I don’t know what tomorrow holds Or how this story goes But I have seen You here before Enough to trust and know
Lord, take these ordinary hands And all the love they hold
Through You A weary heart can find some peace Through You A hurting soul can still believe
Not because I have the answers Not because I know what to do But Your love keeps reaching farther Than I could ever do
Through You
There are moments I feel helpless Wishing I could do much more Wanting somehow to lift the weight Others carry through the storm
But maybe all You’re asking Is that I stay and not let go To be a place of steady mercy When the winds begin to blow
Lord, take these ordinary hands And all the love they hold
Through You A weary heart can find some peace Through You A hurting soul can still believe
Not because I have the answers Not because I know what to do But Your love keeps reaching farther Than I could ever do
Through You
Take these hands that feel so empty Take this heart that’s been stretched thin Take these ordinary moments And fill them up again
If I cannot change the ending Help me love them through the day And let Your mercy keep on reaching Long after I have prayed
Through You A weary heart can find some peace Through You A hurting soul can still believe
Not because I have the answers Not because I know what to do But Your love keeps reaching farther Than I could ever do
Through You
So when the road is hard before me And I don’t know what else to do
Help me love beyond my strength And leave the rest to You
Through You
