I Just Needed to Be Here
A day in the Sierra Nevada begins with roadwork, lost daylight, and a head full of decisions. Somewhere between the cedar trees, mountain sage, silence, and a long mountain road, the need for answers starts to fade.

Becoming Real
A reflective RoyRoy Genkins folk-country release inspired by a late-spring Sierra Nevada drive into unexpected snow and the realization that a quieter, more grounded way of living has become normal.

Last Week's View
I wrote "Last Week's View" out of a real Sierra Nevada exploration that turned into something bigger than reaching a destination. It is about curiosity, preparation, hard-earned perspective, and realizing that some of the richest moments in life are surprisingly simple.

Everything Tells a Story
A mountain-day reflection on what becomes visible when I slow down, pay attention, and let curiosity turn ordinary details into stories.

The Same Second
A reflective companion to Gold Underneath, looking back at the exact moment behind that song and what it came to mean in the life that followed.

Peace on the Other Side
A reflective RoyRoy Genkins song born beside the Silver Fork of the American River, where rushing water, a wildfire scar, and an unusual tree turn a restless day into a meditation on resilience and moving forward.

Is It the Truth?
I wrote this as a reflection on service, gratitude, and the kind of real human connection that only happens when people keep showing up. It began with my own Rotary history, but I deliberately widened it into a song about community itself.

After the Hold
A dark, reflective song about loosening control, making room, and learning that stepping back can be part of helping something grow.

The Meadow Knows
A reflective Americana song born from an early drive into the Sierra, where empty roads, frost, mountain light, and a quiet meadow turn a restless morning into perspective.

Becoming Still
A first major snow in the Sierra Nevada becomes a meditation on changing seasons, changing priorities, and knowing when a moment has given you what you came for.
